Luck Determines Fate
An entry for the Mini Jam 96.
You play as a square, trying to keep your fate as great as possible, because it's constantly getting worse.
The one classic tool you have is a gun, which will kill your enemies, and better your fate.
You can also collect jam (the weird thing with the smily face), which will worsen or better your fate randomly.
Meters
Above the game, you will see a few meters.
The first one represents your fate. A fate of 100 represents great fate, and a fate of 10 represents bad fate. You start off with a fate of 100, getting the death screen when it reaches 0.
The second meter represents how worse your fate gets per second. It's 4 at the start, and as you kill more enemies, it starts decreasing.
The last meter represents how long you've survived.
How it follows the limitation
You're trying to reduce the fate decrement, or in other words, get rid of what's causing you to quickly lose fate.
Controls
WASD or arrow keys to move
Left mouse button to shoot
Player rotates towards the mouse
Features
Your aiming skills get worse and when your fate decreases, and you get slower, and as well as getting faster when your fate increases, with better aiming skills.
The death screen [SPOILER]s you when you die and shows how long you've survived, and how many kills you got.
Bugs
After retrying, an enemy bullet may hit you.
Good luck, I guess, and don't die.
